About Us

Two National Water Institute workers

National Water Infrastructure (NWI) is a modern infrastructure company committed to delivering clean water through reliable, state-of-the-art systems — offering a proven model for communities facing aging infrastructure.

NWI invests in high-quality sewer treatment solutions with a goal of returning the healthiest water possible to the environment. Founded in 1994, NWI has grown into one of Louisiana’s largest privately owned sewer utilities, serving more than 23,000 customers across the state.

All NWI systems have been upgraded to maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations as we are regulated by the Louisiana Public Service Commission, LDEQ, and LDH. As we move forward, we will continue upgrading plants that discharge into waterways deemed impaired by DEQ to remain in substantial compliance.

Our Vision

Modernizing infrastructure to meet the needs of today while planning for the challenges of tomorrow.

Our Vision in Action

The NWI Ascension Parish Regionalization Project reflects this commitment: We are investing in a modern infrastructure solution to support cleaner waterways, stronger communities, and a more reliable sewer system for generations to come.

A Note from our CEO

"I am honored to lead the continued growth of NWI and the Ascension Parish Regionalization Project. The APRP represents a transformative investment in our community, delivering meaningful improvements to water quality throughout the impaired Pontchartrain Watershed.

Having grown up hunting, fishing, and swimming in these very waterways, this work is deeply personal to me. I am committed to seeing this project through so we can improve and restore them for generations for come.”
