Lake Charles Upgrades

UPDATE

On March 1, 2024, National Water Infrastructure acquired ownership and took over operations of the water and/or wastewater systems in Lake Charles in the Moss Bluff, Country Oaks, and Fairview Estates areas. Customers in those areas were notified that NWI is responsible for operations, customer service, billing and collections associated with sewer services as approved by the Louisiana Public Service Commission (LPSC).

NWI will be investing hundreds of thousands of dollars in these systems to upgrade and install equipment necessary to ensure reliable, quality, and safe utility services to customers. In select areas, NWI will be installing water meters to ensure that you only pay for the water you use. We will be prioritizing investment in upgrading the water infrastructure as we know that greatly affects our customers’ quality of life.

Starting with the April 2024 service month, the monthly flat rate for services will be increased. Over the next twelve months, additional rate increases will be incrementally phased in until the LPSC-authorized monthly flat rate of $49.10 is implemented.

As these customers were previously receiving these water/sewer services for free, we understand that there may be questions or concerns. NWI is committed to providing quality services to our customers and completing these upgrades as soon as possible.
